Here's How Our Functional Medicine Programs Work

You may be new to functional medicine, and that’s OK! Get ready for a brand new approach to wellness. Functional medicine gets to the root cause, which means it’s incredibly effective at addressing chronic symptoms. Learn more about the practical details of working with Dr. Crosser.

Our Approach

Functional Medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare. It aims to identify and address the root causes of diseases rather than simply treating the symptoms. This patient-centered approach focuses on the unique history, genetics, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease.

Our practice treats a wide range of conditions including, but not limited to, digestive disorders, autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalances, metabolic syndrome, chronic fatigue, and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. We also focus on preventive care, wellness, and optimizing health.

Chiropractic care is a complementary treatment within the functional medicine framework that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. It shares the holistic approach of functional medicine, emphasizing the body’s innate ability to heal itself and the importance of addressing the root causes of illness and discomfort.

The time frame for seeing improvements varies greatly depending on the individual and their specific health issues. Some patients see improvements within a few weeks, while others may take several months to notice significant changes. Functional medicine focuses on long-term health and sustainable changes, which can take time.

There are many factors that are also a reflective of patient engagement such as diet, exercise and sleeping habits which all greatly influence inflammation, tissue health and recovery, and movement.

Payment

We do not accept insurance directly but can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please contact our office directly for detailed information about our billing and insurance policies.

After the initial consultation, we will put together a program for you that is all inclusive and for a designated period of time that will address your health concerns. Thus, you are not paying fee for service meaning that you are not paying on every visit for your care. Any necessary, additional testing, etc. beyond the program of care, will be additional.  After that initial period of care, we will then construct a maintenance program for you for a minimal monthly fee if you wish to further your health care goals.  (This only applies to Functional Medicine services).

Yes, you can typically use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for functional medicine services. These accounts often allow you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance, including consultations, diagnostic tests, and some treatments. Please consult with your HSA or FSA administrator to confirm the eligibility of our services.
